Artio have begun the promotion for their sophomore album, as their newest single “Split Soul” dropped on Friday (May 2nd). This comes just over a year after their debut LP Babyface, released on Slam Dunk Records in March 2024.
The song is a concentrated blast of modern hard rock, with vocalist Rae Brazill utilizing the breadth of their range throughout. Lyrically, it deals in the experience of living in a world that pretends that one is nonexistent at best and against them at worst. The guitar work of Robert Arkle and Jai Akhurst is never too busy, but doesn't shy away from accented chords or low chugging, using all of the real estate that a six-string has to offer.
