Self-described ‘Nu-pop from Nu England’ cult heroes Cheem have followed up last November’s release Power Move with an expanded Power Move: Victory Lap. The new, expanded edition was released through In Bloom Music and features seven previously unreleased tracks totaling at an additional 21 minutes of runtime, including longtime live favorite “Rhyme/Reason” as well as features from Mure and simpatico R&B/alt-rock genre blenders Cherie Amour. The track order has been reshuffled as well, with new opening and closing tracks and lead single “Pivot” shifted from the start of the album to the end of the front half. The initial version of Power Move easily secured a spot on the NMA’s Best of 2025 list, and the new material and reimagined structure of the full album might just sweeten the deal for listeners and critics who slept on the album the first time around.
Cheem is following the release with appearances at the Summer School Tour on July 5th in New Haven, CT and Rat City Arts Fest on August 1st in Boston, MA. After an August run with Greyhaven and Footballhead, they’re joining the Set it Off Tour with Atlanta rap rockers and parking lot guerilla show rabble rousers Silly Goose, hitting venues across the United States and Canada throughout the fall.
