Daron Malakian & Scars on Broadway Release “Done Me Wrong” Live Video

The latest Addicted to the Violence single arrives with a live performance clip filmed at the Hollywood Palladium, amid renewed scrutiny of Malakian’s political stance.

Daron Malakian continues his solo run with Scars on Broadway, releasing a new single and video, “Done Me Wrong.”

Directed by filmmaker Clemente Ruiz, who has previously worked with System of a Down and Deftones, the clip captures a live performance from his most recent show at the Hollywood Palladium on December 5, 2025. Featured on his latest album, Addicted to the Violence, the decision to push this track as a single does not feel random, especially given the recent controversies surrounding the System of a Down guitarist and vocalist within the context of his side project.

Amid the 2025 crisis over the treatment of immigrants in the United States, under policies driven by Donald Trump and enforced by ICE, Malakian drew backlash after rejecting both the American right and left, describing himself as “far middle.” His comments sparked frustration among fans of both bands, many of whom expected a stance more aligned with progressive politics, particularly given his background as the son of Armenian-descendant immigrants.

Previous singles from the Addicted to the Violence album cycle have already leaned toward a more ambiguous political tone, favoring nihilism over direct confrontation. That approach has led some fans to quote one of the band’s most iconic lines back at him: “You can't afford to be neutral on a moving train,” from “Deer Dance.”

What can be expected from Malakian and Scars on Broadway in 2026? His recent social media activity suggests a stronger focus on his work as an artist, leaving overt political messaging to Serj Tankian and System of a Down. Still, flashes of his more confrontational persona remain, the same Malakian who shouted “fuck yeah!” during a 2005 appearance on Saturday Night Live, an incident that led to the band’s permanent ban from the program.
