After much sweat and toil, influential industrial metal band Fear Factory have unleashed "Roboticist," their first single with new vocalist Milo Silvestro. Silvestro first joined the band back in 2023, following the departure of vocalist and founding member Burton C. Bell in 2020. Silvestro, a drummer/multi-instrumentalist/composer/engineer from Italy, beat out over 300 other potential candidates to secure the position. Guitarist Dino Cazares is the sole remaining member from the band's founding lineup.
Cazares had this to say about the new song:
The future isn’t coming. It’s already here, ‘Roboticist’ is the next evolution of Fear Factory. Man, Machine and the war for what comes next. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the beginning of a new era of Fear Factory.
The frenetic, hard-charging track finds the band revisiting ideas of transcending the flesh and preserving human consciousness. But taken another way, the song carries a double meaning. In particular, the line "the mind moves on" suggests the narrator has moved beyond a past struggle—possibly a difficult break. Some fans have already intimated that the song is a not-so-subtle dig at Burton. Whatever the case, it's great to hear new Fear Factory.

Fans can see Fear Factory live right now on their European Cybernetic Domination Tour with support from Hate, Crystal Lake, and The Nocturnal Affair. Starting in October, the band will head back to the States to co-headline the Soul Of A New War Machine Tour with Mushroomhead and special guests Nine Treasures. Right after that, the band will kick off the U.S. leg of their Cybernetic Domination Tour with Darkest Hour and Brotality. The L.A. shows will feature special guests Pathology.
