After eight long years, Hoobastank are finally back with new music! The band has just released the music video for "How Do You Sleep?" their first single since 2018's Push Pull. For this new track, the band reteamed with producer Howard Benson (P.O.D., Three Days Grace, Kelly Clarkson), who helmed the band's self-titled Platinum-selling major label debut along with 2003's double-Platinum follow-up The Reason. The latter featured breakout hit "The Reason," which went quadruple-Platinum and netted the band two nominations, including Song of the Year at the 2005 Grammy's.
"How Do You Sleep?" finds the band returning to the frenetic pace that defined tracks like "Out Of Control" after the pop and funk rock leanings of Push Pull. Hoobastank are avowed fans of pioneering funk metal outfit Faith No More, and that influence can be felt throughout. The angular, bouncy riffing and, in particular, lead singer Doug Robb's more animated delivery recall the work of Mike Patton & co. "How Do You Sleep" is co-produced by Robb, guitarist Dan Estrin, and Joe Rickard (Limp Bizkit, Saliva, Butcher Babies).

The music video ends with a title that reads "To be continued..." so it's safe to assume the band has more new music on the way. While details about their next release are virtually nonexistent, the band is still quite active on the road with upcoming festival dates, headliners, and a recently announced show supporting Bush. Starting in September, the band can be seen opening for Staind, Seether, and special guests Hinder on the Break The Cycle: 25th Anniversary Tour. The band will also appear at the Long Beach and Orlando iterations of this year's Vans Warped Tour.
