Late Friday evening, the story of Sid Wilson's apparent dismissal from Slipknot got even murkier, as the band's co-guitarist Jim Root offered the following in an Instagram story:
Don't believe everything you read. Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there's more information.
At this time, the band have not made a formal statement on the matter. As for TMZ, who broke the news in an exclusive Friday evening, have yet to follow up on their initial story at time of publication. According to said exclusive, a source close to the band tipped them off that Wilson had been let go, ending his decades-long run with the Iowa metal legends.
Wilson's Instagram bio still reads "@slipknot gang since 1997," for what it's worth.
