One thing I love about Papa Roach is that they attack their new music with the intensity of a young band. They're not content resting on their legacy they want you to get up and dance to the new stuff too. I have a real soft spot for Papa Roach's 2022 album Ego Trip because it fights for its right to be considered among their best work and I think it pulls it off too. They're back again with "BRAINDEAD," an aggressive, and proudly nu metal, banger. Jacoby Shaddix has this eternally youthful energy I can't help but love and he attacks this with zeal. No, it won't replace "Last Resort" as their eternal encore but you won't be running for the bathroom when they bust it out. You might even sing along.
