The Welsh ragga-metal icons Skindred have the answer to all of our fears and worries: a new groove-laden track, and a new album to look forward to. "You Got This" the song dropped this week, with an energy and a vibe that is all too familiar for the band. Frontman Benji Webbe delivers like an encouraging uncle, with the band even providing some gang vocals, which are punctuated by a "Bohemian Rhapsody" nod in the accompanying music video directed by Steve Clarke.

Webbe tells the story of the song, which saw him in the gym and overhearing a personal trainer telling his struggling client "you got this":
“I was watching from a distance, and I could see the struggle and the pain, but in that moment, I knew he had got this. It’s such an empowering statement and it applies to so many battles that everybody faces: it could be a recovery from a stroke, or it could be studying for your exams at school. For me, having songs that lift people who are going through tough times is the most important thing. I feel like that's what I'm put on this planet to do.”
It is with that same relentless positivity that is found in the song that we hope that Dan Pugsley, Skindred's founding bass player, can recover from whatever he's currently going through and come out the other side of it. Earlier this week, Pugsley announced that he is stepping back from the band:
"I've been getting a lot of concerned messages, so I just wanted to let you all know that I'm okay but I am no longer a member of Skindred.
I want to thank my family, my friends, and especially all the Skindred fans for the incredible love and support you've shown me over the years. I'll always be deeply grateful for it.
This band has been such a huge part of my life, and now I'm taking some time to figure out what's next for me. I'm really looking forward to new creative opportunities ahead.

The album You Got This, which will be the band's ninth studio effort, is set for release on April 17th, 2026 via Earache Records, with the tracklist as follows:
