Soulfly's new album Chama is out today via Nuclear Blast Records, and with it comes a new music video for the single "No Pain = No Power." The brutal, haunting track features guest vocals from Gabriel Franco (Unto Others) and Ben Cook (No Warning) along with guitar work–and guitar work only–from Fear Factory's own Dino Cazares. The music video, which features MMA fighters featuring Nikolas Motta and Biaggio Ali Walsh, was directed by Max Cavalera's son and Soulfly drummer Zyon Cavalera.
The proud father Max Cavalera had this to say about the end result:
"To me this is the ultimate guest song and video. Nikolas Motta, Biaggio, Dino, Igor A, Bootsy, Gabe, and Ben made this a collective masterpiece! Zyon took this album and video to the next level. It’s the first time he wrote a script and directed a music video. Mixing UFC and Metal will hopefully inspire a whole new generation of fans! Chama!!"
Zyon Cavalera adds:
"It feels like just yesterday watching UFC fights with my family talking about how cool it would be to connect with a fighter. Then we saw Pereira using 'Itsari' and were hooked ever since. 'No Pain = No Power' goes to show your dreams are not so far away."
Soulfly's new tour comes just months after Cavalera's tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of Sepultura's landmark Chaos A.D. and the band's own European summer tour. Check out the music video below:
