Putting manga stylings, hardcore punk, hip-hop, and heavy metal together sounds like the things you'd find in a middle school boy's notebook, but that is the motif for the French group Rise of the Northstar. The band have a new album coming in November, and as part of the build-up, Resurrection Fest have shown off one of the band's electric live performances.
The band played on the main stage of that year's festival, with that day's events headlined by Parkway Drive. This clip features "Demonstrating My Saiya Style," one of the band's most recognizable songs, sounding something akin to Hatebreed and the hardcore stylings of their ilk. It's a headbanger for sure, with the barking in sections and the drop C riffage, giving that "running through a wall" feeling that isn't always easy to achieve.
