It seems like lately, Tool’s Adam Jones has become an unlikely go-to musician for combat sports. Months after appearing on the themes for WWE’s Penta and Rey Fenix, he returned with another epic theme, this time for the highly-anticipated Canelo Álvarez vs. Terence Crawford boxing match. Not only that, but he had some special assistance in the form of his bandmate Danny Carey.
However, if you were expecting a by-the-numbers anthem, you would be sorely mistaken. The duo performed a brief melody where Carey’s blast beats sounded like the punches Crawford would eventually hit to secure his victory. Even if you’re not a fan of Netflix’s sound mixing, it’s undoubtedly a highlight in an already-stacked year for Jones and Carey.
