Bring Me The Horizon's Oli Sykes Credited On Upcoming Xdinary Heroes Album

In their own ways and scenes, Bring Me The Horizon and Xdinary Heroes are two of the most buzzworthy bands in the rock world today. Bring Me The Horizon has made the rounds this year, celebrating 20 years of their seminal deathcore masterwork Count Your Blessings, while Xdinary Heroes have just celebrated their fourth anniversary, and their first without founding member Gunil following controversy that is more nuanced than K-netizens would like to admit.

In either case, there is more than just a tertiary link between these two acts, as last week, Xdinary Heroes announced their ninth mini-album (K-pop terminology for EP) Impulse, which is set to drop on October 12th via JYP Entertainment. In teasing the release's seven tracks, fans noticed a couple of familiar names in the credits of the track "Give Up The Ghost," those names being of Zakk Cervini, whose production work includes Poppy, Evanescence, Bring Me The Horizon and more, and Oliver Sykes, BMTH's frontman. Both Cervini and Sykes wrote the lyrics, arranged, and composed the track along with Dan Lancaster and Alex Karlsson.

This is a huge move in the realm of heavy music, as Cervini's latest efforts include the mega-collab "End Of You" which brought Poppy, Amy Lee, and Courtney LaPlante together. Oliver Sykes has been in Cervini's orbit for much of the POST HUMAN run that Bring Me The Horizon has been on, and together these two may help Xdinary Heroes usher in a heavier, more refined era.
