Rather than focusing on their new music and releases that sound like a carbon copy of their better days, Disturbed vocalist and known bomb signer David Draiman had some thoughts on Green Day's recent performance at Coachella. During their performance, singer Billie Joe Armstrong changed the lyrics of "Jesus of Suburbia" from "Running away from pain when you've been victimized" to "Running away from pain like the kids from Palestine."
Draiman's comment, which seems innocuous on its face, is as follows:
"Open offer to #BillyJoeArmstrong from @GreenDay . You know I respect you brother. I’d love to have the opportunity for you to hear the Israeli/Jewish side of this horrific war. I’m available to discuss whenever you are. No judgement, nothing preconceived. Let me know."

You know I respect you brother.
I’d love to have the opportunity for you to hear the Israeli/Jewish side of this horrific war.
I’m available to discuss whenever you are.
No judgement, nothing preconceived.
Let me know.
Many people who may not follow this so called "war" may view this as a simple gesture of good faith for an open dialogue.
Here's the problem: there's no dialogue to be had.
Since October 7th, 2023, over 50,000 Palestinians have been slaughtered according to Gaza's health ministry, and many other human rights organizations, doctors, and international groups estimate that the death toll could be at least 119,000, and this number is from October of 2024. Other estimates have been much higher with nearly all Palestinians in Gaza being on the brink of starvation and famine.
Draiman himself is not an empathetic actor in this situation, having gone over to Israel to sign bombs that are dropped on hospitals, universities, schools, UN buildings, refugee camps, and residential buildings. Video after video and report after report detail people being burned alive in their tents including journalists, Israeli Defense Force soldiers ransacking homes that they've destroyed, systematic torture, sexual violence and rape within the Israeli prisons that hold thousands of Palestinian prisoners (read: hostages), as well as the IDF killing Israeli hostages as they waved white flags.
There is no dialogue to be had. Every human rights group under the sun, including many in Israel call this a mass slaughter, ethnic cleansing, and genocide. What exactly does Draiman think there is to discuss? In what universe can someone feel the need to force a dialogue when a band simply points out mass violence through their own music on a massive stage? There is no "both sides" to this. These are the most well documented and livestreamed war crimes in human history. To pretend otherwise is to reject reality with arrogance to the point of mental illness. And once again, Mr. Draiman is down with the sickness.
