Norteño outfit EZ Band have released the full version of their take on Rage Against The Machine's "Killing In The Name," putting a cumbia-inspired twist on the proto-nu metal classic.
Over thirty years on from its initial release, Rage Against The Machine's "Killing In The Name" has sadly only become more relevant, particularly given the current administration in the United States. As such, seeing a Mexican outfit like EZ Band put a decidedly Latin spin on the iconic song is even more of a statement. While the group tends to make Spanglish versions of popular songs to a tongue-in-cheek reaction, this one hits just a little differently.
And that's before you get to the whammy pedal on an accordion.

For the uninitiated, norteño, also known as musica norteña, draws on inspiration from polka, corrido (looking at you, Ladrones), and rural Latin folk music, originating in the southwestern US, Mexico, and Latin American countries such as El Salvador, Chile, and Colombia.
