Today is a special day here at The Nu Metal Agenda. Not only did we get a surprise new single from Slipknot, but we also got a new music video from Connecticut-based nu metal upstarts Symposia directed by none other than Holiday Kirk. That's right, the self-appointed "CEO of Nu Metal," Holiday Kirk, was behind the camera—and editing bay—on this one. The clip features the East Coast five-piece and a host of rowdy fans letting loose at Angry Hair in Newington, Connecticut.
As a bonus, Holiday Kirk was kind enough to post a BTS reel on Instagram shortly after the music video's premiere. Despite some initial trepidation regarding his ambitious ten-camera array, Kirk assures viewers, "It's gonna look great once I'm done driving myself nuts." Can't say he was wrong; the deceptively analogue clip channels some of the skate-tastic late-90s vibe of OG nu metal music videos like "7 Words" and "A Certain Shade of Green." Or that time P.O.D. performed "School of Hard Knocks" with fans on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
Symposia, which stands for "Spectacular Young Men Posing Over Slippery Intergalactic Ambitions," released their debut EP, New Noise, back in January in collaboration with Nu Metal Agenda Worldwide. Fans can head over to NMAWW.com for more info.
Complications from the past are making themselves last / Cloudy memories are pushing from the past, at last / It's all coming together / While I'll be pushing on your gravity, we're pulling on reality
It's probably just a coincidence that this music video dropped on the anniversary of the death of the most mocked piece of shit in internet history. Below is a pic of Symposia's very much not-hated vocalist Enrique "Rekay" Myrick for no reason at all.

All kidding aside, we here at The Nu Metal Agenda and Nu Metal Agenda Worldwide could not be more excited to bring you fresh and exciting bands that continue to carry the flame torch into the nu millennium. Starting in less than two weeks, fans can catch Symposia on select dates opening for deathtape on their headlining North American fall tour. Other dates will include support from Stay Lost and EXTORTIONIST. And in November, Symposia will kick off their co-headlining tour with Chlorine. Tickets to both tours are on sale now. Click here for tickets, merch, the band's newsletter and more.
Check out dates and the Holiday Kirk-directed music video for "Stockholm" below.
Their new EP, New Noise, is out now on Atlantic Records/In Bloom/Deep Love/Hakaloogie Recordings/Lost & Sound/NMAWW.
