Johnny Famiglietti of self-proclaimed "cum metal" band HEALTH dropped lore from one of his weekly "FELIZ JUEVES" livestreams. The bassist and founding member of the industrial/noise band once worked at the Guitar Center in Hollywood, California sometime in the 2000's before starting the band. While working there, Johnny talked about selling a Boss Metal Zone guitar pedal to an "undercover" black hat-wearing Fred Durst.

Famiglietti recounts:

"I sold Fred Durst a Boss Metal Zone in the 2000's, when I worked in guitar center in Hollywood, California... and it was funny because he walked in the store, and the girl I was working with, she's like, 'who's that fucking hot guy?' I'm like 'I think that's Fred Durst!'"

Eventually Johnny's co-worker started denying it was Fred, stating "he's not, he's wearing a black hat."

He would compare this incidental meeting to Superman's alter ego Clark Kent:

"And in that moment, I was like, 'you know what, maybe that whole thing about you know, Superman with the whole disguise, maybe that just fucking works. Superman is literally wearing the glasses, and no one know he's Superman. Even though he is jacked, I'm like, 'this guy is literally Fred Durst, and he's wearing a black hat.'"
