It's happening. #LezBizkit is real. Indie rapper/rocker/singer Lauren Sanderson just took to social media to confirm the May 8th release date for their collaboration with none other than Fred Durst. The two have linked up for a remix of Sanderson's hit "Come Say Sum," the second single from Sanderson's upcoming album, LAUREN.
Originally released back in March, "Come Say Sum" is built atop an interpolation of the signature riff from Limp Bizkit's "Break Stuff." But the Bizkit connection doesn't stop there: the song's music video is heavily influenced by the "Break Stuff" music video and even features fans holding up a handmade sign that reads "Lez Bizkit."
What began as an idle, encouraging Instagram DM from Durst has quickly turned into a full-on collab with The Chocolate Starfish. Between this and "Fix Ur Face," his runaway hit with mgk, Durst is well on his way to becoming the Pharrell of nu metal. Sanderson and Durst must have hit it off—just last week it was announced she'll be opening for the band at two back-to-back shows in Nashville on October 11th and 12th. Pre-save for the "Come Say Sum" remix is available here.
Sanderson's tour schedule is wide open at the moment, but she is currently planning a tour in support of LAUREN. More information will likely arrive in the coming days and weeks. On May 23rd, Sanderson can be seen performing at My Sister's Room in Atlanta, and in June she'll appear at the Out & Abt Music Festival in San Diego. LAUREN comes out May 29th on Pack Records. Pre-order available here.
