The lore behind the legendary Deftones/Dickies bootleg T-shirt goes far back, back before the band even had an album out. Chino Moreno himself admitted, during a live performance after spotting someone holding it up, that those shirts were “oven baked in Abe [Cunningham]'s oven back in '93. They sued us, well, they didn’t sue us but they sent a cease and desist."
Now some thirty-odd years later, Deftones and the Fort Worth-based work clothing brand Dickies are set to drop their official collaboration on the Deftones web store tomorrow, November 4th at 9am Pacific, 12pm Eastern.

Just one day before their annual festival “Dia De Los Deftones“ this past Saturday, the band announced a pop-up merch shop outside of Petco Park that sold the first pieces of the collection for festival goers, this official drop on their web store will allow for the collection to get in the hands of fans everywhere, although no information yet of how long the collection will be for sale.
As a Fort Worth native and Deftones fan, seeing this collaboration become a reality means the world to me.
