Luke Owen of WrestleTalk Shouts Out Silly Goose And Other New Nu Artists

"Nu-er metal," joked co-host Oli Davis, and he may be onto something there.

Wrestling and nu metal go hand in hand, and one personality that understands the link all too well is Luke Owen of WrestleTalk. He's made much mention of his love of the genre throughout his tenure on the channel, as well as their sister channel partsFUNknown, and on today's episode of the WrestleTalk Podcast, his recommendations for the week included a handful of modern nu metal acts.

After proclaiming that nu metal is back (to which I would argue it never went away, but go on), he mentioned legacy acts like Limp Bizkit and Spineshank going on tour again, as well as Korn, who just co-headlined Lollapalooza, being a stadium act. He then lamented the lack of new nu before urging fans to check out some newer bands, namely Silly Goose, Mad Kelly, Maybe Not Safe, and others.

While I would of course recommend the episode to any and all wrestling fans who want to keep up with current wrestling news, this shout-out of the new blood of the nu metal land is worth highlighting. Check out the clip below (video will start at the discussion around the 1 hour, 19 minute mark):
