Sharon Osbourne Named Sevendust's "Waffle," Proving That She Did, In Fact, Used To Be Cool

Now if only we can get the story on "Assdrop."

Sharon Osbourne has caught her share of flak lately for getting on Kneecap's case for supporting Palestine, and while many of us wish she'd stay in her lane these days, it turns out that the manager and wife of the Prince of Darkness did have a moment of inspiration many moons ago.

In a recent interview with Jesea Lee, Sevendust vocalist Lajon Witherspoon discussed the origins of the band's song “Waffle,” from their 1999 album Home. The origin of the song's name has been falsely attributed to the restaurant Waffle House in the past, but Witherspoon accredits the name to an expression that Sharon used in talking to the president of the band's then-label TVT Records: “stop waffling along.”

While Witherspoon affirms his love for waffles after chiding the aforementioned assumption “like everyone wants to fucking say,” he confirms that “Sharon Osbourne definitely named that song.”

Now if only Sharon would focus on her husband's upcoming retirement show instead of trying to get artists cancelled…
