DJ Starscream, aka Ratboy, has, in his own quiet, subtle way, acknowledged the end of his time with the legendary, Grammy-winning nu metal band. Following a quickly deleted official statement put out by the band, Wilson made a small but notable change to his Instagram page. The brief bio, which for years read "Slipknot gang since 1997," now simply says "Slipknot 1997-2026."
Damn. Not just out of the band, but out of the gang. For the handful of folks hoping this might be some sort of Wu-Tang Clan/Killa Bees situation where Wilson might still be loosely affiliated with the band despite no longer being an official member, those hopes have been completely dashed. Still, it's good to see Wilson and his former bandmates on the same page. Given recent online activity, that clearly wasn't always the case regarding Wilson's standing with the band.
Despite fans' continued barrage of comments and questions about the situation, Wilson has remained tight-lipped about the whole affair, posting about non-Slipknot-related events like the World Scratch Invitational Regional Championship, of which he was the host, and an Instagram story about his grandmother's 101st birthday. Given the complex legalities of severing ties with an entity like Slipknot, it's entirely possible lawyers and NDAs prevent Wilson from discussing the matter publicly. In either case, shout out to Kathleen!
While Slipknot are currently on break from touring and recording, fans can see the Wu-Tang Clan with special guests Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on the Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber Continues Tour. They'll even hit up NMA favorites like Aftershock and Shaky Knees. Tickets are on sale now.
