North West Releases New Nu Single "N0rth4evr"

For a 12 year old musician's daughter, this is something else.

North West, the daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, has been making headlines every so often for her ventures into music and her eclectic alternative style. Now she’s made her debut with a self-produced single and EP titled “N0rth4evr”. She’s even got a pop-up in collaboration with Complex LA in the works.

The song is incredibly short, clocking in at just one minute and 44 seconds, and features heavy rock guitars over soft rapped vocals. The accompanying music video seems to further cement North’s artistic vision as she wanders through a distorted dark forest and abandoned mansion.

Check it out for yourself below:

Considering West is just 12 years old, it’s cool seeing someone so young have a firm stance in their sound and vision. This isn’t some recent shift; during an interview with Ellen Degeneres back in 2021, her mother revealed West is an avid metalhead with Black Sabbath being one of her favorite bands. It’s also not the first time that we’re seeing a rapper influenced by rock and metal, either, with the likes of Playboi Carti, Denzel Curry (who featured on Knocked Loose’s insane track “Hivemind”), and Rico Nasty being some other big names that take inspiration. Collaborations between metal artists and rappers are growing more frequent than ever. I imagine it’s only a matter of time until North West lands herself a collab as well.

If the song is enough to make you curious, the full EP drops tomorrow, featuring five other songs. She’s also got a number of merchandise products available on her own shop, featuring vinyl, shirts, stickers and more. It could be interesting to see how the young artist evolves from here.
