This past Sunday, to mark the final night of the second leg of Converge and Poison The Well's Peace In Place Tour, experimental post-hardcore collective The Armed brought out none other than Mike Patton (Mr. Bungle, Faith No More, Fantômas).
The legendary singer/songwriter/producer/voice actor lent his dynamic vocal stylings to songs such as "THE MUSIC BECOMES A SKULL," "ALL FUTURES," "AN ITERATION," and "Liar." Converge drummer Ben Koller (Mutoid Man, Killer Be Killed), who played on The Armed's 2018 album Only Love, joined Patton and the band to perform "Fortune's Daughter." Converge guitarist—and Only Love producer—Kurt Ballou helped Koller, Patton, and the band with a cover of "Homewrecker" off Converge's classic Jane Doe.
Most recently, Patton collaborated with indie folk rockers—and longtime Patton fans—The Avett Brothers. The project, dubbed AVTT/PTTN, is in the middle of a tour celebrating their self-titled debut album. Starting in July, Patton's supergroup Tomahawk will hit the road with special guests The Melvins for the A Huge Waste of Your Time and Money 2026 US Tour.
Check out video from the night's performance and upcoming tour dates below.
AVTT/PTTN is out now on Thirty Tigers in association with Ramseur Records and Ipecac Recordings. The Armed's latest album, The Future Is Here and Everything Needs to Be Destroyed, is out now via Sargent House.
