German nu-deathcore outfit Consvmer are fast approaching the release of their third studio album Abgrund ("Abyss" in German), and with it comes a beatdown-tinged single in "Willenlos," which features fellow nu-metalcore minds DOGBITE. The result is a punishing, grimy mix of chaotic hardcore and metalcore with a surprising groove at its core.
The band offers up the following on "Willenlos" ("without a will" in German):
"Willenlos" is not about losing yourself, but about having yourself taken. The track maps a process of forced depersonalisation: trauma wiping the mind clean, identity seized and remoulded to someone else's design, resistance arriving too late.
DOGBITE's contribution lands in the track's most disorienting passage, their hardcore delivery cutting through the haze with an urgency that only sharpens the sense of collapse.
