FILTH Got Time Today With New Music Video For "SHELL TOWN"

Addintionally: Somebody gon' die today. At least, according to the band's latest single. We're just the messengers.

Had enough FILTH and FILTH-related news yet? Well, too bad! Still riding high off the success of their Welcome To Shell Town EP—and the hype around their upcoming debut album from their satirical slam offshoot SLAM BAND—the North Carolina rap/deathcore outfit have seen fit to serve up another helping of beatdown brutality with this latest music video for "SHELL TOWN." The track comes from the aforementioned EP, which also includes covers of classics from Disturbed and Limp Bizkit.

More intelligible than SLAM BAND but no less extreme, "SHELL TOWN" showcases FILTH's ability to seamlessly meld deathcore and hip-hop while sacrificing neither authenticity nor aggression. Where their over-the-top cover of Limp Bizkit's (in)famous smash "Rollin" had a sense of absurdity and glee about it, tracks like "SHELL TOWN" prove the band is as serious as it gets. Singer/MC deserves special mention for deftly shifting between guttural growls, vicious vocal distortion, and a commanding flow that summons the spirit—and tone—of pioneering crunk producer/rapper Lil Jon at key moments.

They scared to come outside, but I got time today / You scared to come outside, somebody gon' die today / They scared to come outside, boy I got time today / You scared to come outside, somebody gon' die today

This video arrives just days after the announcement of SLAM BAND'S THE ALBUM and FILTH'S holiday season tour with fellow purveyors of brutality Narcotic Wasteland and Killcrown. Tickets for A VERY FILTHY CHRISTMAS TOUR are dropping soon.
