Legends from the hardcore punk and hip-hop realms have teamed up for a banger, as Agnostic Front and Darryl "D.M.C." McDaniels of Run-D.M.C. bring forth "Matter of Life & Death." The song comes from the former's upcoming Echoes in Eternity, which drops on November 7th. Vocalist Roger Miret and D.M.C. trade verses over a mid-tempo track with plenty of chugging from the legendary guitarist Vinnie Stigma.
Seeing one of the members of Run-D.M.C. on a modern track like this is refreshing to see, as it could be argued that without the hip-hop icons teaming with Aerosmith for the remixed "Walk This Way," we may not have nu metal as we know it now. Add in the work of bands like Agnostic Front, Black Flag, and Biohazard and their dabbling in hip-hop, and this partnership is one for the books.
Echoes in Eternity drops on November 7th via Reigning Phoenix Music.
