Mikey Rukus Finished Adam Cole's AEW Theme Right Before His Debut

The AEW composer worked down to the wire to finish Adam Cole's entrance theme before his All Out 2021 surprise debut.

It's been just over four years since Adam Cole made his debut in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), as the legendary former Ring of Honor (ROH) World Champion and leader of The Undisputed Era shocked the system at All Out 2021. The moment was one of many that made that show potentially the greatest card that the Jacksonville-based promotion has put on in their short history.

Part of the surprise was the theme song Cole used, "(All About The) BOOM!," composed by the brand's in-house musician and composer Mikey Rukus. Taking notes from Rage Against The Machine and using a seven-string guitar, Rukus made an instantly iconic theme.

And according to a new tweet from Rukus, he did so last minute, more or less. Rukus recalls:

"I actually finished Adam Cole’s theme the day before for his surprise debut, got on a plane, flew to Chicago that night, met with the crew the next day at rehearsal. Sat in the hard cam section when we went live, walked to the back, did the spot, went right back to my seat"

At that same show, Rukus performed with Muellas de Gallo to play out The Lucha Bros for their AEW World Tag Team Championship match against The Young Bucks. He very clearly earned his paycheck on that night, which can be relived on HBO Max now if you wish.

Check out this clip of the show for the debut, with Adam Cole (BAY BAY)'s music hitting around the 2:30 mark:
