Ridgewood's Low Cinema Presents "Nu Metal Cinema" Series This April

The cult of the nu isn't just in music, you know.

Congratulations to residents of Ridgewood, Queens, NYC who enjoy all thing nu metal. From April 4th to April 10th, Justin LaLiberty (Vinegar Syndrome, Cinématographe, and OCN Distribution) will be hosting screenings of films that are nu metal and nu-adjecent at Low Cinema, a small theater in the Queens neighborhood.

According to the folks behind the theater:

Low Cinema is a 42-seat neighborhood movie theater that features a wide range of programming: from beloved genre fare and kids' matinees to cult classics and obscure documentaries, a mix of repertory and recent releases.

Laliberty had this to say on the screenings, in a statement on social media:

Doing a thing with my friends at @low_cinema in April as a tribute to the best music sub-genre of the 90s and the films soundtracked by it 🤘
Tickets on sale now, I’ll be in person to host the screenings on April 4th and 5th so please come out and watch Spawn x The One and then perhaps my favorite double feature that I’ve ever programmed: Little Nicky x End of Days, two NYC set Satanic jams, playing on Easter Sunday ✝️

Hopefully if this goes well, maybe we can have a yearly tradition.

Each night's double-feature will begin at 6pm local time, with the second film beginning around 8:15pm local time. Some of the films will see two separate screenings through the week, with the announced flicks as folows:

Wed 4/4 - The One & Spawn
Thurs 4/5 - Little Nicky & End of Days
Fri 4/6 - Bride of Chucky & The Blair Witch Project 2: Book Of Shadows
Sat 4/7 - Queen of the Damned & Little Nicky
Sun 4/8 - End of Days & The One
