The past month has seen numerous acts announced for the Florida-based music festival set for the second weekend of May, with the initial round boasting a heavy nu metal flavor. Even more nu metal representation has been announced since the first wave, with the most recent set of bands being no different. As posted on the official Welcome To Rockville Instagram account, Staind, Drowning Pool, Buckcherry, 10 Years, Sick Puppies, and Fozzy have been declared to be performing at the festival.
All of these bands, save for Fozzy, dominated mainstream rock radio stations throughout the 2000's, so this will be a chance for people to relive some of their favorite songs in a blast to the past. Staind's consecutive album run of Dysfunction, Break the Cycle, and 14 Shades of Grey contain some amazing songs in the nu metal / divorced dad rock genre, and Drowning Pool's debut album Sinner is still a top notch banger to this day. 10 Years is one of those bands who have remained enjoyable and consistently underrated, with songs like "Wasteland", "Shoot It Out", and "Backlash" showing their nu metal influence.
