New York-based alt-metal pillars In This Moment have a new nu track in "Crawl," an industrial-tinged anthem of defiance and rebuking those who only stand to drain. Singer Maria Brink brings back her quasi-rapping, something only heard on songs such as "Sex Metal Barbie" or "Roots" or songs of their ilk, ascending to her place as modern metal's supreme.
When discussing the new track, Brink had the following commentary:
"'Crawl' is a reckoning — a reflection that those who dominate and cause pain will ultimately reap what they sow. As above, so below. The fall is inevitable. Bearing witness to the harm they inflict, the song declares that those who once stood tall will be brought to their knees."
Guitarist and co-founder Chris Howorth echoes Brink, adding:
"'Crawl' is a visceral track that delivers the undeniable observation of powerful entities dominating and abusing the weaker and compromised masses — something that continues to repeat itself throughout human history. The song empowers and, at its core, is about standing up and fighting back."

With this new track comes the announcement of Witch, the band's ninth studio album, set to release on August 28th via Better Noise Music. Among the tracklist are "Heretic," released last year with Kim Dracula, as well as "Sleeping With The Enemy," which dropped in June. Also featuring is a cover of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick In The Wall," which will feature Kat Von D.
