Today marks the release of Mimi Barks' sophomore EP Dreamstate Of Fear, highlighting the Berlin-based doom trap maven's diverse stylings. Today also marks the release of the EP's fourth single "Ophelia," following "Jericho," "Power durch Verrat," and "Dreamstate Of Hell."
While the song has an accessible core and hook, don't mistake that for something that isn't full of fire and fury, as Barks' vocals shift from clean to harsh at a moment's notice. She knows just when to flip the switch, and it makes for a revelatory experience tinged in industrial, metal, trap, and more.
Dreamstate Of Fear, Barks' second EP, is out now, released independently.
