Korn may be considering bringing back one of nu metal’s most iconic tours. In a brief recent exchange, guitarist James 'Munky' Shaffer confirmed that a revival of the Family Values Tour “is possible” and that it has already “been talked about.”
The clip comes from a spontaneous airport encounter with content creator Joe Andaloro, known online as @joy.of.everything, who regularly shares short-form interviews with figures from music and entertainment. In that relaxed setting, Shaffer also reflected on some of the band’s most intense live moments.
Asked about standout shows, Shaffer pointed to Woodstock 1999, highlighting the crowd’s energy and describing the experience as “out of body.” He also revisited the impact of the Family Values Tour at its peak, recalling lineups that featured Rammstein and Ice Cube.

Launched in 1998, the Family Values Tour became a defining platform for nu metal and its adjacent scenes, bringing together key acts in a touring format that helped shape an era. While no official announcement has been made, Shaffer’s comments are likely to reignite speculation around a potential return. The last run of the festival was in 2013, which itself came after a six-year hiatus.
