Jim Root is one hell of a guitar player, as fans of Slipknot will know. What those who are more casual maggots may not know is that the dude likes his Telecaster and Stratocaster-style guitars, having used them throughout most of his career. Teles and Strats are not known for being metal guitars if you're not in Iron Maiden or Deep Purple, but damn if Jim Root didn't will them into existence in the genre, and he brings the heat with a new video for Charvel Guitars USA.

In it, he's showing off the new American Neo-Classic SD-1, playing through the band's 2004 smash hit "Duality." The latest in Charvel's iconic San Dimas guitars brings with it Seymour Duncan pickups for a range of sound capabilities, from vibey blues to crushing metal. Both versions, the original and the Floyd Rose-bearing Style version, have alder bodies, glossy finishes, maple necks and fingerboards, and several different color options.

Oh, and a price tag of $2,749.99. Or $2,799.99 for the Style version with the Floyd Rose, if you're the dive-bombing type of guitar player. If you're so inclined, check out Charvel's official website for the full listing of specifications.
